She was also well intentioned but what escaped me was what she saw in the jerk. The heroine admittably could have been stronger but she knew when to take a stand and knew how to argue effectively. I've read some books where the hero was a jerk but this one gave a whole new definition to the word. Normally, I don't mind a somewhat weak, inexperienced heroine who falls for a much older and rich man but that's really hard to do when you can't stand the so-called "hero". Overall, I got exactly what I was expecting when I picked up the book. Vintage Palmer, HEARTBREAKER is a fast read that will make you cringe and laugh at times. Anytime she thinks of the words he hurled at her, she feels sick to her stomach.
